The Foam Ant in black imitates both ants and beetles. An important fly to have as trout often eat more ants than any other bug during the spring and summer. This foam variation is also key to catching fish in faster water. Unlike the traditional ant patterns, these will float above the water in just about any river. Casting these flies on a dead drift along with a few twitches from time to time will often draw strikes. Be sure to have a variety of sizes, as ants can vary from small to large.
