1957 Harmony Catalina Archtop Acoustic Guitar – Refinished

For your consideration, a lovely 1957 Harmony Catalina! This beauty left the factory as a two-tone black/pink Catalina, which is personally our favorite of the Catalinas. Unfortunately, someone stripped the original finish, probably at the same time that the crack repairs in the solid top and back were performed. There is a handwritten note on the inside back of the guitar that claims this model is a 1947 (it isn’t, we’re sure) and that is was repaired in September of 1987. The repair guy signed his name, Russell Dip, or something….. we’re not sure. If you know him, ask if he still has the original paint. �� The back was removed for the crack repairs and the neck was reset at that time. That Russell fella was a little heavy-handed with the glue, but the repairs have remained solid and don’t appear to have any pending failures. Most of the hardware is original. The tuners are nice period-correct replacements. The neck is straight and the guitar plays well with low action.
